Anyone interested in coming to a session should look on the gbuwh website to look for your local club in Great Britain

Trying out a new sport

People often find using the equipment difficult at first, this is because even if you use a snorkle during scuba diving and snorkling, using it in this environment when you have to keep enough air left to blow the waterout of it. This can mean that the new players end up swallowing some water in the first 10 minutes of the session but you should get used to this quickly and

However most people massively enjoy this sport on their first session as the bottom video demonstrates, and find that it is a very free experience, and can also be played

This sport is played in many countries and has a world championships every year with 4 age groups, under 19's, under 23's, eilites (23-35) and masters (35+). The best teams in the world are France and Australia which is not massively unsurprising baring in mind that Australia have a massive pool of underwater hockey teams and scuba clubs and impressive swimming teams that feed their numbers as well and France are the only team in the world that pays its players for representing their country. The world championships could potentially become the olympics some day

This sport is for people who are not afraid of a challenge, it is not as daunting a game to start playing as you might think, however you will find that once you have started playing there are 1000's of ways you can improve your play and unlike some sports there is not 1 way that is necessarally the correct way, flare counts for something in this sport.

Why not try underwater hockey as a new sport?
